What To Bring To Your Appointment

26
What to Bring: To get started there are 2 main things we need. A list of your creditors and proof of income.

1. We need to know who all of your creditors are so they will be notified and taken care of in the bankruptcy.  If you have copies of your bills you can just bring those.  If not, you may want to write out a list. A good way to get creditor information is by going to www.annualcreditreport.com and print out your credit report for free (although not everyone reports to credit bureaus). We can also pull 2 credit reports for you for free.  Ultimately we will need to be able to compile a complete list of the names, addresses, account numbers, and amounts owed for all of your creditors before the case is filed.

2. Proof of income for the past 6 months, starting one month prior to the filing. This may be in the form of pay stubs or a print out from your employer.  If you are filing with a spouse, we will need proof of income for both of you.

Other Information
Although you do not have to have this initially, we will also eventually need either income tax returns or transcripts.  For Chapter 13, we will need the last 4 years of tax transcripts. You can either get these free from the IRS by calling 1-800-908-9946 or we can order them for you for $35 if you prefer. For Chapter 7,  we need a copy of the last tax return you filed.

We will consult with you without charge. There is no fee unless you decide to file.

We will make the process affordable for you (See Our Fees and the Costs ).

We will do all the paperwork. No stacks of confusing forms.

Your case will be handled by an attorney, not a legal assistant.

We will be with you every step of the way to make sure you get a fresh start.
